Mendes, Hall, and Corinha take the Mat at the ADCC
ADCC are off to a great start with the 66KG weight class.
In an uneventful match, Justin Radar won over Timo-Juhani Hiryikangas.
Rafael Mendes and Bruno Frazatto faced each other on the mat. Off the mat as training partners they proved just as good for a match up. Inevitably the 50/50 appeared with rampant footlocks, Mendes comes out on top with back control in points.
Two of the greatest Jiu-Jitsu players donate their gis and fight shorts. Xande Ribeiro & Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles have donated their gis and shorts to help Japan recover from the earthquake and resultant combo tsunami/nuclear meltdown. 100% Proceeds are going towards Japan relief aid. eBay autions are going on now. Lets bid it up people!
BJJ Legends would like to extend a heart felt welcome to Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles. Cobrinha opened his Los Angeles academy back in March. The grand opening was the day after the Pans. A smashing success with about 100 people in attendance. On hand and teaching techniques were numerous famous Alliance star black belts including Lucas Lepri, Bruno Malfacine, Michael & Michel Langhi brothers. Even the head of Alliance JJ, Fabio Gurgel taught. After the seminar, students sparred with the black belts again including Fabio Gurgel! Fabio keep submitting, non stop!
Also attending the party was Cobrinha's even more famous cakes -- according to my sourses very delisious.
Why I didn't participate in the Abu Dhabi World Pro 2010
I have had many people ask me why I didn't compete in the Abu Dhabi World Pro this year, especially since I announced on facebook that I would be going. I have also learned that the commentators of the event were talking about my lack of attendance, so I wanted to clarify for my facebook fans, at least, the story.
The bottom line is that Abu Dhabi Pro's strict travel rules are the reason that I did not go to compete. I wanted to go ... and even thought we had everything worked out for me to go, which is why I made the post on facebook to such, but I was wrong.
