Before signing to the UFC, Ninja accumulated a record of 9-0, with 7 wins coming by way of submission—including two rear naked chokes, two kimuras and an arm triangle choke. (Two of his opponents tapped to strikes.)
Roberts’ UFC career got off to a rocky start when he tasted defeat for the first time in a 1st round KO loss to John Howard. However, Roberts rebounded in his second fight, winning a split decision against Forrest Petz at UFC 116.
In his most recent fight at UFC 121, Roberts defeated Mike Guymon by Anaconda choke in just over a minute, earning a cool $70,000 and Submission of the Night honors. Guymon came in throwing punches in bunches, pressing Roberts against the cage. Roberts attempted a guillotine and then an Anaconda, which started on the feet until Guymon dropped to the mat and Roberts gator rolled and the Joker tapped.
